Taking from the storehouse

Recently I was having a conversation with someone about buying groceries and I told them I quit buying out of necessity, except for things you just have to have every week. You know milk, orange juice, bread. When those words came out of my mouth, "I quit buying out of necessity", they struck a chord in my spirit. I hope you have those moments. You know when you are just in casual conversation and God reveals something to you through the words that just came out of your own mouth. He said, "that's the problem with most peoples prayer life."

You may be thinking what in the world does a persons prayer life have to do with the way I buy my groceries. Well, here it is laid out just a simply as the Father showed it to me. Just as I go buy things when they are on sale, come home and break them apart and bag them up in amounts that I can pull out to use when I am ready, we need to create our stock piles of prayer. Our daily communion with the Father builds stock piles in the heavenlies and keeps us from having to run to Him in a panic out of necessity.

I don't worry about whether we have meat to eat, I know it's there in my freezer. I don't worry or stress over my prayers because of the time that I have spent in my Fathers lap communing with Him. I know that He hears me. I know that He already sees the end from the beginning of every situation that arises. I know that He is working it out for my good. I know that He is faithful.

My grocery buying is strategic and my prayer life is strategic. Maybe you need to get strategic. Ask Holy Spirit for your strategic plan today.

Till next time......
