Revelation From the Wilderness

As I was in the Word this morning the Lord began to speak to me and I'm going to share that with you today.

Matthew 4:1 Passion Translation

Afterward, the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the lonely wilderness in order to reveal his strenght against the accuser by going through the ordeal of testing.

The Holy Spirit will at times lead us straight into an ordeal of testing just to show us how strong we have become. In these wilderness places we can see everything around us a lush and green because we are able to see everything through the eyes of the Spirit. We see clearly what God and the enemy are trying to do.

Other times we throw ourselves off into a wilderness and blame God for putting us there. In these wilderness places everything looks dead lonliness surrounds us and we feel week because we are walking in our own strength.

The most important part of navigating any wilderness is descerning why you are there. Until you figure that out you will never see the way out.

From the scriptures that follow this passage we find some things out that will be powerful weapons during our time in the wilderness. It is because of our lack of knowledge that we perish. We not only need to know how Jesus responded but we need to look at the enemies tactics.

We know that Jesus only responded using the Word, but what I found interesting in this translation was the word constantly.

v.4 He answered, "The Scriptures say: Bread alone will not satisfy," but true life is found in every word, which constantly goes forth from God's mouth."

Not just what He has spoken but what He is speaking. We have to find out what He is speaking into our situation and in order to do that we must have ears to hear Him.

V. 5 Then the accuser transported Jesus to the holy city of Jerusalem and perched him at the highest point of the temple and said to him, "If you're really God's Son, jump, and the angels will catch you. For it is written.....

Did you catch this? The enemy transported Him. The enemy can decieve you into thinking that you are no longer in the wilderness. This is why we need eyes that truly can see.

The enemy wants us to believe that because we are loved and protected that we can just do whatever we want and God will protect us. We have to have discernment. We no longer live our lives for ourselves and we don't tempt God into protecting us when we are walking into situation being led by our flesh.

We have to guard our hearts against worshiping anything or anyone on this earth. There is only One who should be enthroned in our hearts and that is Jesus Christ.

Till next time......
