Camouflage

I was staring out the window and a squirrel scurrying up the tree caught my eye and then another ran across the yard. As I was watching them run across the layer of white in my yard, it occurred to me that they were venerable because they didn't have any camouflage. And that's when a lightbulb went off in my mind, during certain seasons in our lives we too are more venerable because of our surroundings or because repeated assaults have left our armor weak.

Those little squirrels have temporarily lost the protection of their camouflage but soon they will have plenty of cover.

The winter season can leave us feeling venerable, but we have hope that spring is coming but more than that the snow and ice will be melted in a few days, and we can go back into hiding.

In those winter seasons we feel as if we are walking around with a target on our backs, like we have our very own hunting season. We are just hoping to live through, to not be maimed for life, just let me survive until this season closes.

What if these seasons are preparing you to live out in the open?

Eph 6:10  Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ASV
